VISIT TALBOT COUNTY AND ENJOY THE "HAMPTONS OF THE CHESAPEAKE BAY".

DISCOVERING TALBOT COUNTY

Break away from the daily grind and head for Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The summer months abound with so many places to visit. This area was once known for its working watermen making their living on the Chesapeake Bay, and now it has also become a paradise for boaters, and a haven to relax for locals and visitors.

Explore the colorful and quaint waterfront towns. They each have their own story and are rich in history.

There is charming Tilghman Island, Oxford with its Colonial roots, and St. Michaels with its alluring blend of old and new. Up the road is the beautiful town of Easton with its own special landmarks not to be missed.

Enjoy an exhilarating cruise on a historic skipjack. This area is home to a small fleet of these vessels, the last sailing workboats in the United States. Then there is the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, with fun-filled maritime festivals and exhibits of exceptional workmanship of wooden boat builders…. not to mention sailing, fishing, biking, and just relaxing. We also should not forget eating! The shore is a delight to seafood lovers.

So whether you’re looking for the solitude of a sailing trip on a sun-kissed afternoon, a rollicking festival, or a relaxing stroll through one of these villages, you’ll find it and much more, all here in Talbot County.
